More Reasons to Love BUBBA LAB

First off, I would like to give a shout-out to all my labmates at BUBBA LAB! I requested a scienTEAst shirt in a (half-meant) joking manner and guess what... they gave me a shirt! How awesome can these guys be? Haha! Thanks so much labmate Mikee for the super cool shirt!

Me and scienTEAsts Mark and Lani... Of course, me already wearing the shirt! Hihi!

We tried their classic Earl Grey and their Bubba Frost Series. Super. Yummy.

Can you see the creamy froth? Mmmmm. Salted cream frost. Yummeh.

They also have an ongoing promo. Collect stamps and get discounts on the 7th and 10th stamp. Cool huh?

More Reasons to Love CAFE VIA ANGELO

I love cafes that are open on Sundays, especially in a small city like Marikina. Last weekend when we had some hunger pangs late Sunday night, we drove along JP Rizal looking for open food places and we were all smiles when we saw that Cafe Via Angelo is still open!

The coolest thing I remember about this restaurant (aside from its coziness) is the warm service provided by the staff, they're so nice and very accommodating. I remember them running out of iced tea stock but since I ordered it one of the crew had to run off to the nearest convenience store to get a pack. Aww! I know it's their responsibility to stock up, some of you might think, but still!!! Some foodie places would have easily said 'not available'. ;-)

See how late it was? No people. Almost closing time. Hihi!

We dismissed the idea of ordering pizza since we have previously tried their pizza (which was really good and loaded with toppings). I have always been curious about their sandwiches and at the same time craved pasta, so yes, we ended up ordering those.

While waiting for our orders, I ask for a slice of chocolate cake. Hehe, dessert before the meal. Not sure if that's a very good practice.

*Wink*. Whatever floats my boat.

Halfway through the fudgy cake, our orders arrive:

 Fish and Chips (145 PhP)

 Pesto Mare Pasta (145 PhP)

Tuna Sandwich (90 PhP)

So: thank you Cafe Via Angelo for remaining open even on Sunday night! Burp.

BACOLOD CHICKEN PARILLA

There are loads of grilled chicken places in the metro alone, and when it comes to reliable food quality, some hit the mark and some miss the mark. For the past year, I have been receiving lots of recommendations to check out this grilled chicken place in Marikina, Bacolod Chicken Parilla.

Mom, Sis and I had lunch there before heading over to Bubba Lab some weeks ago, since both foodie establishments are located at C & B Circle Mall.

 Dining area to my left...

Dining area to my right... spic and span. Very good!

This place will indeed remind you of Bacolod!

The place is neat and spacious enough. The servers are very nice too! But as usual, what we're mainly concerned with is the - I like your intuition - FOOD. :-) Here is what we ordered:

Pa-a Inasal at 85 PhP (soooo flavorful) and a stick of Isol at 45 PhP (Chicken Tail, often called 'pwet' hihi) Yum yum yum!

Tuna Belly (65 PhP /100 grams) which is oh so good and oh so tender and juicy!

One rice for each lady: Sate rice (20 PhP), Garlic rice and Plain rice

The perfect drink for the perfect grilled meal: Coke. Ahhhhh. Of course, don't forget your soy sauce with calamansi and chili!

 Enjoying our meal, comme d'habitude.

Nice landscape in front of the resto

Check out Bacolod Chicken Parilla and experience the flavorful dishes they offer - from meat to seafood and even desserts - I assure you you're in the right place when it comes to grill! ;-)
