Good news to all Marikenyos, specially those who are living in Bayan or near the area.

No, let me say that again.

GREAT news to all Marikenyos, specially those who are living in Bayan or near the area. And specially milk tea addicts. You guessed it right: now there is a milk tea place nearby for all your wintermelon or fruitea or any other craving for refreshing drinks (with pearls, of course, and other good stuff!)

My dearests, let me introduce you to: TEASOME PLACE! It is about twenty meters - pardon my estimation abilities - which is a short walking distance from 7-11 Marikina Bridge, on the same side of the street. Right beside another noteworthy foodie spot FIRUZ which I featured earlier.

The kitchen and the counter where all the milk tea magic happens

The place can comfortably sit about ten to twelve people, but if I am not mistaken they would be providing chairs and tables outside after their soft opening. Sis and I were both excited to order since we love discovering new milk tea places.

Choco Banana Milk Tea (80 PhP with free sinker) and Wintermelon Milk Tea (75 PhP with free sinker). Yummy teas, yummy pearls! I love their window blinds too! So chic.

They also serve these yummy crunchy potato wedges served with ranch dressing and catsup. A perfect snack to go with the milk teas.

Me enjoying my milk tea.

Sis enjoying her milk tea. Everybody happy. Hehe!

Super cute lamps! I wanted to steal these because I know they look soooo cute when lit. ;)

Do you guys need more convincing from me? I didn't think so. What are you waiting for? Teasome Place is just a few steps from the Marikina bridge, waiting for you to experience their yummy brews.

324 J.P. Rizal Street, Sto. Nino, Marikina City
(Walking distance from 7-11 right after the Marikina bridge. Walk along the Calumpang jeep route, not along the market!)
Tel. No.: (02) 480-3921
As of writing time, they are on soft opening and are closed on Sundays. They serve yummy milk teas Monday to Saturday, from 11 am to 9 or 10 pm :) If you badly need a milk tea fix, just call the number to check if they're open.
 Visit their Facebook page here.

Munching Budget per person: starts at 70 PhP

Since I am feeling really great about my blog and its most avid readers, I decided to declare everyone who entered the contest as winners! Yes, you read that right. EVERYONE. :)

P.S. I will be announcing the winners of the promo real soon!!!

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

Hello dearest readers, this is the promo you've been waiting for!!! :D

As mentioned in my previous post, I will add even more color to my dining adventures by taking one or two of you with me as I munch my way around the city.

WHAT'S IN STORE? Please be aware that the selection of the foodie place(s) is spontaneous - it will depend on my and your schedules on the date itself, and on what I feel like eating, haha! We can eat in one or two or three restos in one day. We can dine by the street. I might take you to a drinking spree (unless you're under 18) because I don't drink so you will be the one taking the shots (literally). We can have dessert only. I might ask you to jog with me at the Sports Center after (kidding!). In short, if you join this contest, YOU AND YOUR TUMMY HAVE TO BE READY. *evil laugh* ADDENDUM: Of course, I will be writing about our foodie adventure so you must be willing to have your photos (with me!) posted here. :)

HOW TO JOIN? Simple! Just leave a comment on this post by completing the sentence: "Roni, I think you should take me with you on your next foodie adventure because __________." or you can also post in Filipino "Roni, ako ang dapat mong isama sa iyong susunod na "pakikipagsapalaran sa pagkain" dahil __________." (Haha!) Your comment should look something like this:

  • Your answer to the complete-the-sentence question
  • Your name
  • Your Email address AND/OR Twitter account
  • Which city you currently live in (Don't worry, no preferences for Marikenyos - fair ako! *wink*)

For you to check your own availability before joining the contest, the first ever winner(s) will have dinner with me on April 29 (Sunday). My wallet will decide how many winners I can take with me that day... sorry, empleyada lang... :) Incomplete entries will not be included in the contest.

You may post your answers until April 22, 2012 (Sunday), 11:00 p.m. After that, the comments section will be closed. :) I am looking forward to dining with you soon!

There are streets in Marikina that are studded with foodie places, namely: Rainbow Street, Lilac Street, J.P. Rizal, and Gil Fernando. I can add more, but those foodie spots are kept in a secret folder which I will be publishing soon.

It is convenient to dine in Marikina. The city is small making it easy to go around 'till you find a foodie place to your liking. The prices are low compared to more commercial cities. And of course: Marikenyos are known for their discipline which translates into great customer service. I hope you agree with me. :)

The last stretch that I mentioned earlier was Gil Fernando. It was formerly called Tuazon so if someone tells you to go to Tuazon in Marikina, you know where to make the turn. (Gil Fernando is the stretch of road from Sta. Lucia foot bridge to Marquinton - at least to give you an idea.) In this stretch, there are many food places, I've featured some of them here, such as Luyong, Zakee, Good Thymes and Tapsi ni Vivian. There are still so many waiting to be featured!

Another place that serves really good Pancit Malabon is Auntie's Bakeshop and Pasalubong! Obviously, this foodie spot is also located along Gil Fernando. I noticed a lot of people coming in and picking up their bilaos for advanced orders. Auntie's serves Pancit ng Taga Malabon, and it really tastes good! I love the sauce and the squid toppings.

While waiting for our orders, we munched on Classic Chicharon Puti :) (These are actually fish crackers!)

Auntie's also offers set meals called FIESTA MEALS. We all ordered Fiesta Meals, to have a portion of both the Pancit Malabon and an entree of our choice.

Fiesta Meal #3: Lechon Kawali with Pancit Malabon and Rice (110 PhP)

Fiesta Meal #2: Daing na Bangus with Pancit Malabon and Rice (110 PhP)

Fiesta Meal #4: Lumpiang Shanghai with Pancit Malabon and Rice (110 PhP)

Pangtulak #1: Royal (22 PhP)

Pangtulak #2: Pairing my Lechon Kawali with Coke Light (40 PhP) para healthy, di ba? :p

Auntie's wide selection of food for the hungry ones

I wasn't able to try their breads, I will next time :)

Visit Auntie's: your one stop shop for Pancit Malabon, yummy set meals, and lots of baked goodies!
